Isle of Man
There is no funding available for control of bracken
Northern Ireland
Countryside Management Scheme is closed to applications for funding, however guidance on bracken control can be

Republic of Ireland
There are no specific rules dealing with the control of bracken and no funding is available for this purpose.
The Pesticide Control Service is the competetant Authority for regulation of pesticides in Ireland. All plant
protection products, which includes herbicides,placed on the Irish market, must first be approved by PCS.
A list of herbicides approved for use in Ireland is listed under the Products section on the website.

SEPA

Aerial Spraying
SEPA have simplified the process of applying to undertake aerial spraying. A new web-based form will hopefully make things
faster and easier. Under the new scheme, one form is sent electronically into SEPA which in turn contacts Scottish Water
and SNH, and then SEPA feeds back any specific requirements back to the applicant. On-line application is available by

Crofters Commission
Funding may be available for bracken control for crofters under the Crofting Counties Agricultural Grants (Scotland) 2008 Scheme (CCAGS).

Welsh Assembly Government
From the Rural Development Plan Management Unit:
- Bracken Control is not applicable under the Tir Cynnal scheme.
- Unless a customer is already in the Environmentally Sensitive Areas scheme there is nothing under the other schemes of ESA, Habitat, Organic Farming
- Farm Woodland Scheme or Farm Woodland Premium Scheme.
- There are grants available under the Tir Gofal scheme however the customer needs to be in the scheme or on the application list to receive these grants.
The scheme is currently closed to new applicants.
